Online School Enrollment & Attendance FAQs

Who is eligible to attend iQ Academy Minnesota (IQMN)?

Any student in grades K–12 who resides in Minnesota is eligible for full-time enrollment.

What is the attendance policy?

As Minnesota public school students, all IQMN students must comply with the state-required minimum number of instructional days. Regular login to IQMN constitutes “attendance,” and students are required to be in attendance while enrolled. We expect that students will attend Class Connect sessions as required and complete lessons according to due dates.

How much time will my child spend online?

In the younger grades, many of the online lessons include offline work. Students in grades K–2 spend about 30–40 percent of their time on the computer, while students in grades 3–5 spend about 50–60 percent of their time online. Screen time increases in middle school, and by high school, most of the school day is online. Half-credit courses generally require half as much time as full-credit courses.

Once we start the school year, can we change our minds and go back to our home district?
